Melissa, The side effects you are experiencing are quite common with Lupron. I took Lupron for nine months last year and experienced hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia. I never experienced any memory losses or hair loss on it, or after the fact, but I know there are women who have. Lupron will initially cause an estrogen surge as your body prepares to go into a menopausal state, so it is not unusual for the first month or two to be strange. For me, my endo symptoms initially got worse as I experienced this estrogen surge (makes sense-estrogen fuels endo and an estrogen surge could cause things to get worse at first) but after about 5-6 weeks, my endo symptoms tapered off. For me, the pain relief and higher energy levels were worth the annoying hot flashes and night sweats. After six months of shots, I did do add-back therapy (PremPro) and this completely wiped the side effects out. PremPro is a very low dose of estrogen-it was just enough to combat the side effects and bone loss, but not enough to fuel my endo. I did the monthly shots for the first three months, and then the last six months, did the three-month version. Just hang in there and see how things go. Lupron can be a good thing for some women, as was my case. It can also be bad too, but you really won't know how you are going to react without giving it some time. My Doc told me that to be fair, I should give it at least three months. If you want to talk more about it, feel free to email me privately. I'm hear if you want to vent! You might also want to search the forum for old messages on Lupron. It has been talked about quite a bit.

Good luck, hang in there, and lots of hugs!! Amy
