? On CBCP, SSRIs and Weight gain

I had my lap done a month ago, and had most of my endo removed but have the deep tissue endo in the wall of the uterus and tubes and was told I need to go on 6 months GnRH, which I am leary of. I want to try the CBCPs first, and in my past I have been on every BCP known to man. Everytime I go on it I become a witch!!! I am sorry, but it is true. I cannot even stand myself! So, the Dr told me a SSRI would work. I am just getting off Zoloft, I have been on it for 5 yrs. I have ALWAYS been thin, and took off the weight pretty easy after my son was born. Two months on the Zoloft, well here I am an extra 60 pounds later. I worked out too, I mean, 45 mins of cardio, weight lifting, could not take it off. Reading the Atkins book I realized that SSRIs are known to slow weight loss. Anyway! I was wondering if anyone had any luck with an SSRI not gaining weight? How bad are the side effects of the BCP now? It has been 7/8 yrs since I have been on them, or the shots? I know it is the last thing I should worry about, but the reason I am doing this is to get pregnant, I want to be as healthy as I can before I do. I am really sorry to ramble!!!! Thanks for any feedback!!! And I hope you all have a great NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! Marie
