Post-Lap Pain QuestionFrom: Elena (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Dec 30 16:10:46 2002
I had a laporoscopy on December 1. I had the usual pain where the incisions were made for a few days, and then the diaphragm & shoulder pain for about another 2 weeks after that. My lap only resulted in the finding and removal of a few bowel adhesions which my doctor removed. He didn't think they were the cause of my pain. Anyhow, I have started to have some pain in the usual places (area between the vagina and thigh, extending back to the rear end) and a new symtpom which is an on-again-off-again numbness for the past few days around the area where he probably was working. I also had (bizarrely) a couple of shooting pain up towards my ovary (on the other side!). I have never had that before. Is it possible to have residual pain, and possibly referred pain, a month after the procedure. I am probably due to get my period as well, so could that be making the difference? None of the pain is in the uterus area, though. Any responses are appreciated. Thanks, C
