Hi Melissa --

The 5mm might refer to the thickness of your endometrium (also called the endometrial stripe) -- in other words, your uterine lining. However, I think it's always best to ask your doctor -- only s/he can tell you what s/he meant.

Believe me, I can understand how you'd be reluctant to ask your doctor

--
I'm the same way sometimes -- but remember this is your body and your
life,
and you can't make educated health care decisions if you're not educated
about your health. It's more important to ask questions you need
answers to,
than to worry about what your doctor thinks of you.

I always make a list of questions before I talk to my doc, so I won't forget anything.
