Re: Bowel Problems associated with endo? (long)From: anonymous@obgyn.netSun Dec 29 14:01:48 2002
Hi Kay, I have had crohnes didease for the last 18 years. It's an inflamation of the small intestine.I had 3 feet removed 10 years ago onlt to have 3 feet come back. They told me the surgery could only be 50/50.I had no choice it was emergency. Then just 3 yrs later I has trouble, severe trouble with my periods. The gyn could explain the pelvic pain or the rectum pain. They told me I was a high risk for another surgery even a laparotomy but I made them do it. When they opened me up they found scar tissue, adhesions, and alot of endo. They got rid of most of it but there is still alot to deal with.,They wanted me to go on the lupron shots for 6 months, but then my favorite gyn's office closed it's doors.I have yet to find a new gyn but am in the process of looking. The mood swings and the pain are awful and makes my job very hard asI am a dental assistant and am on my feet all day.Don't have time to be running to the bathroom 7 times a day. I sympathize with you and hope this helps.Sometimes endo really is crohnes disease, please have them check you for this. Terri- USA
