endometriosis and urinary problemsFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Dec 26 18:03:49 2002
I have seen some similar postings on this site that have been helpful in letting me know that I am not alone. Here is a little of my endo history. I was first diagnosed with endo in 1997. I finished my first round of lupron shots in spring 1998. Within six months, I was in excruitiating pain. I thought the endo pain was back. Turned out I had a UTI, yeast infection, bladder infection, kidney infection and stones —— yes, all at the same time. Walking was difficult. Over the next few years, I began experiencing chronic kidney and bladder infections and UTIs. I also was told that my right urinary tract contained scar tissue but was told it was a congenital problem that likely would not get worse. By spring 2001 things had become much worse. I had surgery for kidney stones. The doctor went in but really couldn't do much because I had so much scar tissue in my right urinary tract he couldn't dialate it. He left a stent in for a week, went back in and no stone. Before the surgery an IVP showed the right kidney was draining either very slowly or not at all. I've since had more UTIs. In 2002 I again went through lupron shots. They have been done with about four months. Now the feelings of UTIs and bladder abd kindey infections are back. AS we speak, I'm having horrible spasms in my bladder. This has been going on almost daily for about a week. Recent tests show no infection. This past Friday I went to the ER for blood in my urine. (It was most definatley visible to me.) The ER doctor suspected it was a stone, but my pain was minimal at that point. More a feeling of pressure in my kindey. I suspect my problems are connected to the endo. I've reached the end of my rope with this. My doctors don't seem open to the idea. What does anyone else think???
