Re: Dear KristyFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Dec 13 16:00:55 2002
Wendy, There is no cure for Endo. All it does is try to slow it down so that you hopefully won't have to have surgery for some time. You won't know for sure if the pill will not help the Endo if you don't try it first. When you are on it and have been on it at least 6 to 9 months then you should have an idea whether or not it's going to help. When it comes to Endo every woman's body is different. Also, b/c of everyone's body being different sometimes it is forgotten that the symptoms of Endo are not the same for every woman with the condition. There are many ways to try and slow the growth process of Endo down and the pill is just one. It works for some doesn't for others. I found that it works for me but it works best with surgery. B/c of being on the pill I get recurrences in my endo about every 2 years. The only reason I made it to 3 is b/c I went on a different medicine temporarily only b/c my dr wasn't ready to do surgery yet. I think that if I would have had surgery sooner then the medicine that I went on might have worked a whole lot better and then that would have helped the pill work better. Feel free to e-mail me privately any time. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html For women who are interested in additional support http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Endo_Vulvodynia_PCOS/ I am a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
