Hi. My name is Amy and I am 25 years old and have been suffering from severe lower right abdominal and back for the last 6 months. I feel desperate and I am just looking to see if anyone can relate. I started my period when I was only 12 years old and had very uncomfortable periods and back pain very early on. They were always very regular however. 28 days on the dot.. I have also suffered with frequent urinary tract infections for as long as I can remember. My mother always taught me about cleanliness, wiping the right way, and not taking baths, but they persisted. I have had at least five infections per year since about the age of four. When I was sixteen I had my first child, and then was on the pill for two years. I had another child at nineteen, and then was on the pill for two years. My son is five now and for the last couple of years I have noticed that something was not right with my body. My periods were not to bad and I still had the UTIs, but I felt like something was deffinately off. I would feel this sharp pinch at first, useually when I would empty my bladder. It was only on the right side and would only last a couple of minutes. Gradually, over time I would have sharp pain in the same spot and in my lower back. Then about nine months ago I had an ovarian cyst burst during intercorse and I thought I was going to die. It was horrible and I went to the ER. The pain was deffinately worse around my period and I was starting to think I was going nuts, because the pain would come and go. I finally went to my gyn to get it checked out and she thought that I might be getting another cyst and ordered an ultrasound. There was nothing, no cyst. So I went to my primary doc, and she thought it could be a kidney stone and ordered an IVP. There was no stone, but we did find out that I have TWO ureters and TWO collection ducts coming from my right kidney. I thought that that was a little strange. After that I was getting very worried because the pain was getting worse and they could not find anything wrong with me. I ended up in the ER again because the pain was so bad and it was the ER doc who was the first to suggest that I get checked out for endo. So I started my own research and everything started to make sense. So I went back to my Gyn and asked her for a Lap to check for endo and she said that she thought that I probably pulled a muscle or hurt my back or something, but that "she would be happy to go in and take a look". So, I had my lap 3 weeks ago, and was diagnosed with endo, but it was very minor. I only have two small spots near my right ovary, but she could not burn it off because it is lying on a major artery. I think the major reason for all of my pain is that my right ovary is in the wrong place. My anatomy seems to be totally off. It is a defect that I was born with apparently. It is growing in to and fused the the right side of my pelvis by tissue, so it is being tugged and pulled on and my doctor believes that that is where my pain stems from. She put me on the pill for the endo just in case that is the cause of my pain, but could not do anything else for me. The pain is just as bad as before. She did put me on Vicodin, and Motrin, but useually it doesn't even touch the pain. I am sooo frusterated. Has anyone ever had anything like this with the ovary being fused? I just feel so alone and scared because it is so hard for me to function sometimes, and my doctor doesn't seem to know what to do for me. At least I know that something is wrong with me and that I am NOT crazy... Thanks,

amy
