bcp and perimenopause--when to startFrom: max (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 11 15:54:51 2002
All, I am about to start a continuous regimen of low dose BCP to deal with heaving perimenopausal symptoms, and to stop bleeding (due to anemia). I was told to begin on the first day of my period. However, I am very irregular and feel I should be starting my period not (but so far I am merely spotting for four days). This is not a standard start to a period, but could I still go ahead and begin the pills? Also, can anyone tell me whether there is a real problem is I begin at a time other than the firsts day of my period? thanks, m
