Amy,

I would recommend getting a second, third, or fourth opinion of your situation.

Don't be afraid to do this to see what other options you have. There may be other options and it might be able to be done laparoscopically. With my last surgery in 1999 my dr (a regular OB/GYN) was able to remove the Endo sitting on the back of my uterus.
