Vicodin and hydrocodne are the exact same thing just different names. Also I take Vicodin every single day under the name of Lortab (generic Lorcet) and no I don't get sleepy on it. I did for the first few days but after that was fine.

Also, some women can't just take Motrin for their pain regardless of whether it's post surgical pain or not and that is b/c of their pain threshold. If they are in a lot of pain the Motrin may not be enough for them and the more they take there is the potential of tearing up the stomach lining b/c of the dosage.

I'm not afraid of addiction b/c I have a legitimate need for the medicine, not looking for a high. Addiction and dependency are two different things. Yes, I am dependent on my medicine which means that I need my medicine in order to function on a daily basis. Without it I wouldn't be able to do housework (although limited b/c the Endo and other health issues of the female nature make life challenging in more ways than just one, pain is just one of them), or other things that I want and have to do such as being on here.

My last dr didn't believe in giving pain meds, and the dr I have now is very good to me and has no problem giving me pain meds.

I'm going to be changing insurance come Jan but we are in the choosing process now. I have to make sure that I keep my gyn b/c of the way she takes care of me.
