Synarel and sinus surgeryFrom: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 27 19:00:23 2002
has anyone had sinus surgery while take Synarel? my ENT says I'll only have to stop the Synarel for a few (3) days. my RE says that short of a break shouldn't be enough to have my pain come back. but what if I have complications and need to stay off of it longer? he said the easier option would be to substitute a one month Lupron shot now and pick back up with the Synarel after the surgery. but I'm really leary of trying to switch and ending up miserable while on Lupron and trying to have the sinus surgery. the surgery timing is pretty limited because of other meds that I take (I get one med once a month and the surgery has to be at least 5 days after an infusion, but at least 14 days before the next infusion). I've been putting off the surgery for about a year. but I now have a huge polyp (the size of my eyeball) that the docs say has to come out and be checked. postponing the surgery until I'm off of Synarel isn't an option. I take it for ORS and I'm on it for the long haul, as long as my pain is controlled and my bone density is ok. I know this will get a bunch of people up in arms, but I know the risks, my docs are fine with it and I am too. I just don't know whether to keep things as they are and hope that it is only a short interruption, or take a leap and go with a round of Lupron. any suggestions?
