Confused by Pathology report

I am 40 and had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago after several months of prolonged pelvic pain, heavy bleeding (clots etc, rectal bleeding and many other symptoms which prevented me from working. Originally, surgeon though it was endometriosis but when he got in - said he couldn't find any. The histology showed 'normal proliferative endometrium'. From what I understand, this is a stage in the menstrual cycle when oestrogen levels are quite high. i don't understand this as I had been on Zoladex for months to stop the bleeding and had no periods. I was also put into a surgical menopause by the drug and had no oestrogen by all accounts. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thank you.
