I have tried acupuncture for endo pain. I went about once per week for 3 months, and they also gave me herbs to take. I went to a student clinic so that it was cheaper, and was mostly impressed with their care, though it took a long time because they had to check with their supervisor before proceeding. Despite my high hopes, I did not find reduction in pain. I believe this is because I was not very consistent in taking the herbs and I never had meetings scheduled around my pain schedule -- they were just weekly but never seemed to fall when I had pain. The acupuncturists said it would still help, but I switched jobs and it became inconvenient to keep going. I might try again at some other time. I would recommend acupuncture because it seems to work for a lot of people. Moreover, I have never felt so listened to and respected by a doctor. I felt in control and felt good that I was taking this step in my care. The whole experience was therapeutic and the doctors took time, deeply listened, and deeply understood what I was going through. I have since been to an herbalist and am taking trillium. No word yet on whether this will help, but he was also much more understanding than most doctors I have been to.
