I found relief from endo pain! Without drugsFrom: valerie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Nov 23 22:22:13 2002
I have read several of all of your messages and feel for all of you, I have put you all in my prayers and I hope my story will help all of you. I had a lapo on Oct 18 was told that my uterus, bladder, colon, and ovary on my left side are fused together with scar tissue caused from endo. I had been having extreme pain the first few days of my period which started 8 months ago and occured every other month when I ovalated on that side. My doctor wants me to go on depo luprin (which for those who may not know, puts you into menopause) and then to have tests again and to probably have to have a hysto. I am 42 and don't really want to go into menopause unnaturally. So I started reading everything I could get my hands on that would give me some alternative releif. I read about a lady named Dian Mills who recomended B vitamins and Dr Susan M Lark author of Fibroid Tumors and Endometriosis who suggested cutting back on dairy products and meat because they have saturated fat, which puts stress on the liver and increases circulating estrogen (which many doctors believe causes endometriosis. I also read the book called Cancer prevention diet, this book is about Macrobiotics and Curing cancer. So before taking any of my doctors advice I thought I would try cutting out all dairy, meat, coffee and sugar. I started eating whole grains and vegetables brown rice, barley, califlower etc on Nov 16th. I got my period (the bad month) on the 20th, my pain started on the 21st but only lasted one day instead of two and was far less extreme, I was able to get relief with 1 advil. 4 days without saturated fat and taking B vitamins which my liver could now use relieved my pain more than 75% I will remain eating this way I have so much more energy, I feel great, alot of my aches are gone, I sleep better. I believe I won't have to have those treatments after all.
