Re: HYSTERECTOMY Debate - now versus later

I have to agree with Shelia. I had a hysterectomy with endo removed and ovaries left in. Less than a year later, I was back having ovaries removed and the endo was already back, so it was again removed. My HRT was not controlling things. I have been changed to a different HRT with higher doses. So far, it seems to be working better.

Now with all that said .... I'm glad I had the hysterectomy. It didn't stop the growth of the endo, but I do feel better. I had terrible periods and female pains all the time.

My point is that a hysterectomy doesn't always stop the endo from growing. In my humble opinion, you need to do a little research, maybe get a 2nd opinion from another doctor, and make the best decision for you, because a hysterectomy may or may not cure the problem. Good luck with everything!
