Re: 2nd Lap and Lupron

Leslie, You have come to the right place! This board is a great way to get info as well as just vent, as everyone who posts here can relate. I have a couple good friends who had the same kind of issue you did. Endo pain either came back toward the end of the pregnancy or right after the baby was born. I can see why you would wonder if Lupron will help. I can't tell you one way or the other but I can tell you my own Lupron experience so you can have a better idea of what to expect. I did Lupron last year for 9 months and did very well on it. I experienced hot flashes and night sweats but they were really more annoying than anything. You just learn to get used to them and deal with the hot flashes when they occur. (I called them my "private summers". I found it didn't seem so bad if I could keep a sense of humor!) I also had maybe 4-5 bad mood swings that would last for a day or so. Nothing too traumatic though as I knew they were being caused by the Lupron so I would just talk myself down and ride them out. I also had pretty much NO sex drive but my hubby and I were prepared for this to happen, so it wasn't a big deal. The Lupron provided me pain relief through the course of the shots and for almost a year afterwards. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Also: It is possible to get endo on your bladder. I have it on my bowels. Your doctor should look for this when he does the lap, but if you are having bowel/bladder issues I would be sure to tell him prior to surgery so he can be prepared. If you want to talk about Lupron or endo further, please feel free to email me directly. The only way to stay sane with endo is to talk with others who can relate!

Hugs! Amy
