Does my increased pain level mean much? Graphic...From: Annie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 19 13:55:20 2002
Good afternoon ladies! I am feeling ok today, but yesterday - oh man! Starting Sunday night, all of the sudden I had searing pain in my abdomen, thinking that I was going to have horrible diarreah, but nothing moved. The pain was below my belly button, around the area of my incisions from my lap (in early Oct), around the left side of my pelvis. (they left endo on my artery and ureter on left side). The pain would come for about 2 mins at a level 9, then subside to a level 7 for about 15 mins or so, then go back up to level 9. This went on until I went to sleep, still no bowel movements. Then I woke up yesterday morning, waited about 30 mins before I actually got up out of bed, I was feeling fine until I stood up. Boom! The pain hit like a ton of bricks again! I was shocked that I had not had a BM yet, or some "toots" at least. I finally had a (soft) BM about 4 hours later, horribly painful in my pelvis. The pain is still at about a level 4-5. I have been taking so much stinkin' Codeine, and am awaiting a physicians approval for ANOTHER refill on it. I have never had such a horrible pain from bowel movements or intestinal movements. I had to stay home from work because of the pain yesterday, and today I am loaded up on Vicodin at work. My question is...does this marked increase in pain mean anything? I had a lap on Oct. 2nd (this year) and the doc found endo in my cul-de-sac and left ureter and artery, and my appendix...they left most of it, too dangerous to remove. (blah blah blah!!) Could my endo have spread far enough and this fast to cause this much pain? Or could I have formed adhesions or scar tissue this fast to cause this much pain? I have not called the doc yet, I am sure they will probably just tell me this is all normal, or it must be bowel or nerve or stress related...(blah blah again!!) I am going to post this on the womens board too, hoping for a response for a doc! Thanks so much ladies! Have a good day :)
