2nd Lap and LupronFrom: Leslie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 19 09:55:25 2002
I have not really posted on this board too much, but I have read as much as I can. My story: I was diagnosed with endo in Feb 2001 when I had my first lap. My doc wanted to put me on lupron, but I chose the pregnancy route instead. 3 months after my lap I was pregnant and my son was born Dec. 2001. Towards the end of my preg I could feel the "endo pain" although I was told preg would surpress it. Well, my son will be a year next month and I am scheduled for my 2nd lap, it is back and worse this time. Got a new doc so he wants to go in a look to see how bad it is. He suggested trying to go ahead with another child after the lap but my hubby doesn't want one right now. Doc wants me to go on lupron after the surgery. I am a little scared about that. I am nervous to take something that will put me into a "menopause state". I have the brochure from the doc but the only side affects it states is bone loss and I know there are more than that. I am in alot of pain and don't want to be in more, espically from the med that is supposed to help. Doc explained to me that lupron will hopefully surpress it long enough to make it dormaint (sp?) but if 9 months of preg did not help, how will 6 months of med help. Just looking for a little encouragement from some veterans of endo. I have just been dealing with this myself. Also- I wonder if the endo has spread to my bowels and bladder, I am having problems with these, who out there has endo on the bowels or bladder or can they take a look during the lap, I am thinking about asking the doc to take a look for the heck of it, he is really good and understanding about that kind of stuff. OK, I have gone on long enough. Nice to meet all of you and glad there is an active group out here for help. Leslie
