the best thing you can do is talk with your girlfriend and 'be there' for her, which it sounds like you are... i speak from experience when i write that it helps tremendously to have a caring, mature, and OPEN person to talk to when going through the trials of endometriosis--one who will say words like "ovary", "menstruation", and "ovarian cyst" without freaking out or acting uncomfortable with the subject. i was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst and endo when i was with someone that i loved deeply...i tried to hide it from him because i was embarrassed and upset about being delt this disease, but when i finally told him, he was extremely caring, loving, and understanding, and that made the world of difference to me when i was in the process of beginning to deal with this disease. incidentally, i was on danazol for approx. 6 months, and i did not experience any cancer risks on the medication. so in short--talk openly and honestly with her, and be prepared to help her through the difficult times and emotions.
