Re: Leg pain and Endometriosis

Anon, It seems like leg and back pain are a common complaint from women with endometriosis. I have a lot of leg pain, especially on the days when my ovaries really hurt. It may be that there is some scarring or adhesions on a nerve that causes the pain to radiate into the back and down the leg. I have also had my legs buckle when I stood up and often I find that I get stabbing leg pain if I have sat in a car or chair for more than an hour or two. Perhaps you and your wife could talk to your ob/gyn about all this and see if he/she has any suggestions or answers? You may ask them how severe her scarring and adhesions were when they did the lap. My Doc has told me that if there is an endo implant resting on a nerve somewhere, it can cause major pain issues. Hope she gets to feeling better. One suggestion for the nights she cannot sleep: tylenol PM or equivalent. I have many sleepless nights too, and have found that a 1-2 Tylenol PM knocks me out enough to get some rest.

Hang in there! Amy
