Pain Management?

Hi,

I ma a 32 year old, unmarried woman with no children who has suffered from endo since age 12. Over half of my life with this debilitating disease and I am at my wit's end. I am ready for hysterectomy as I have come to the point where I can't even work because the pain is so terrible. I had surgery Sep 4 and am on lupron (AGAIN) and yet the pan has already returned. My doc is very hesitant to do the hyst, she wants me to see a Pain Management Specialist. Has anyone done this? Results? I told her I don't want to learn to "manage" my pain, that I want to live my life. No more drugs (am now on Oxycontin), no epidurals and nerve blocks every couple of weeks, I just can't do this anymore. I have a job I love (after losing several to this disease because of missed days), with a female boss who is trying to be as sympathetic as possible without fully understanding the problem, and I don't want to lose it. I am currently on short term disability while waiting to see. I have a consult with my doc next week and I am basically going to demand surgery. Any comments would be most appreciated, I am terrified!
