Hi Barb,

>From what I understand from my doc, they pretty much know if it is a
functional cyst. She has been able to tell the difference between a functional cyst and a corpus luteum cyst and a hemorrhagic cyst and a suspicious cyst with septations. I have had all four.

My right ovary always has been the source of pain for me. I always had monthly pain from ovulation there, never the left. It is probably because my left was incased in adhesions and plastered to my uterus and sigmoid colon. Strange that most of the pain came from the right side.

I think that pain in the ovary can increase if you have adhesion and or endo. The cysts push against all that and you get more pain.

I don't know if this helps, but I hope you find an answer soon. Best wishes, D.N.
