Re: Endometrioses for 17 years ' HELP'From: T. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Oct 28 14:31:10 2002
>From what I understand, most doctors won't prescribe Lupron for more than 6 months because of the bone loss that occurs with the lack of estrogen. There are alot of scary things said out there about Lupron, but you can find scary things about almost anything if you look hard enough. Personally, I'm not too impressed with a bunch of hoopla without any hard evidence. But Lupron is definitely not a cure for endometriosis, because there isn't one. It may help for a period of time, and then it may not. Its just wishy washy that way. I tried it because I was desperate from constant pain, and it did help a great deal, although not completely. I hurt for several days out of a month instead of constantly now that I'm on it. I don't know what's going to happen once I stop taking it – I'm just kind of floating around in confusion with everyone else. Oh, and a hysterectomy isn't a 100% cure either. Endo can still be there without the female organs.
