Anon -- Perhaps I am just unlearned about "macrobiotics", but what I know of it, if you are a vegetarian and you also avoid citrus/caffeine/carbonated drinks/refined flours & sugars, then you are mostly adhering to the principles. What does this dr think it is? And just so you think about it, remember that no matter how good a surgeon this guy is, he is only another human being. No better than you, and not even necessarily smarter. God gave him a skill with surgery. For him to act like a jackass to people he's supposed to be helping, people who pay him for his services and make it possible for him to put food, macrobiotic or otherwise, on his table, is unconscionable. Some of these drs like to blame something outside of their control for the failure of surgeries/meds to "cure" endo. What better way for a surgeon to shirk blame than to accuse the patient for not making themselves well -- classic blaming of the victim. I don't know this guy, but I already can't stand him. There are plenty of really good drs out there that have a good bedside manner, you just have to look. I have found 2 in my area. My dr was honest with me, honest with himself, when he told me that there were lesions he couldn't remove and didn't recommend be removed. He said he thought I would need additional surgery in the future, but he thought that would be years down the road....like 15 years. Not every few. And he has NEVER suggested any dietary or lifestyle changes to me. The ones I have made, I made on my own so that I felt I was empowering myself. And I have been comfortable with those changes. If this dr is making you uncomfortable, you owe it to your nerves and emotional wellbeing to find someone new, or at least give someone else a try.

((hugs)) Kim
