Back to square one... tired, confused and ready to cry

I had a laparascopy almost two years ago to be checked out for endo. The doc didn't find a thing. I've just (1 month ago) gone off of depo-provera and am having extreme pain, cramps and a never ending period even though I've switched to regular bcp's. My gp is now saying that I may indeed have endo and I should have a second lap done. Apparently, they were both shocked when nothing was found the first time. After all the other tests I've gone through in the past couple of years, I feel like I'm back where I started with two wasted years off my life. Is this a normal occurance, to have nothing show the first time?
