Re: A question about endo treatment for all of the Moms out there

Hey, I am not a mom, but I have a well respected doctor who is well informed and involved in current research on endo, and knows what is up, and when I decided to make the same decision you did he fully supported me. All the treatments out there are directed at symptom control - there is no cure for endo - so if you are ok with the symptoms then you are being fully responsible in your decision. You are the only person who has to feel your pain, and thus you are the one who gets to decide whether to submit to medical treatment to try to improve it. Granted, if you are miserable all the time and in extreme pain, this will effect the people around you, but it seems to me like you have made a well informed decision that you are happy with, so in this sense your loved ones should support that. Good luck with your mom - I think if you explain to her that you are not being irresponsible, but doing what is the best for you, maybe eventually she will come around. Good luck with your help (and promotion!).
