Irene and Karen Re: Depo Provera

I was just reading the archives and I noticed that you had asked in September for experiences with Depo Provera. I have been using it for 5 months and have seen about a 75% reduction in pain. It has been great. Before I started using it I used to take oral medication for pelvic pain and for acne and Depo Provera eliminated the need for this. I struggle with the increased appetite(especially bad with the first shot). I can see how a person would gain weight if they were not used to paying attention to what they ate. However, 5 months later I still weigh the same so not everyone gains weight. Lastly, I have had a light period every day for 5 months. Yes this is a drag but honestly I prefer it to the pain. I am wondering if I should have my shots moved closer together to stop this? Has anyone ever done this? I am not sure if that would increase bone loss and appetite? Thanks everyone, Amanda
