Anyone know how long before you get a period after Depo-Provera?From: Rob (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 8 09:51:44 2002
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone have any idea when to expect a period after only 2 shots of Depo-Provera ( 6 mths). I was diagnosed with endo, through Laporoscopy surgery in March. was told to try depo-provera for 6 mths to see if I would get relief from symptoms (being spotting a week before and after period, pain with and after sex, diarrhea, left abdominal pain and lower back pain, which I am now seeing a Chiro and what a relief!) My last Ob/Gyn is on sick leave and with the advise of another Ob, decided not to get a 3rd shot of depo as I was spotting constantly and had a period on the last shot... but now had no period or spotting since Aug. The 3rd shot was schedule for the first part of September... Did I do the right thing by not taking the 3rd shot, since I didn't get any relief? Would the 3rd shot maybe have made a difference? Now this Ob/Gyn wants to do a Laporoscopy with Laser to remove the spots of endo, since my last Ob didn't remove anything the first time. Is this a good idea 8mths later do another Lap.? Should I wait for the pain to be unbearable? I haven't had a period since the last part of July, so far the only complaint I have is frequent pain on my left abdomen and sometimes with intercourse. Like I said the Chiro is really helping my lower back pain. He doesn't think that my back pain is endo related???? I think that I can live with the side pain, if the back pain is gone. But if I start spotting and bleeding for 3 weeks in a mth again I don't think I want to deal with that. Will Lasering the spots make a difference??? Does anyone knows? Thank you for any comments you may have and Bless you All! Linda
