Hi Heather:

In my humble opinion, that is just hogwash...well, I had another word for it but decided not to type THAT! Please get another opinion, before you have that surgery. You need a copy of the operative report, so that you can see in writing what the real reason was. Extensive scar tissue can be a reason for an inexperienced surgeon to back out of a laparoscopy, but it is rare that a person is too overweight to operate on. Regardless, your Dr would have known this long before scheduling you for the surgery.

Just my opinion, and girls feel free to tell me that I'm wrong. If your Dr backed out because of adhesions, then you might be best with an endo specialist, who is used to dealing with the scar tissue problems as well as any endo. Being overweight is a poor excuse for a surgeon to back out of any surgery...get another opinion, please.

Best wishes.
