One-sided endometriosis

I'm 27, have had endometriosis for 11 or so years I think, but wasn't diagnosed until three years ago. My surgeon said it was the most endometriosis he'd seen - but it is only on my left side. None at all on the right. My left side was a mess - loads of adhesions, lots of endometriosis but there's a clearly defined line where it stops and the right side is totally clear. I've had three laparoscopies, the first was diagnostic, the next two involved laser and incision and and not once has any endometriosis been seen on my right side. Does anybody else know why this might be? Surely there's some reason for it - I am fed up with people saying that retrograde menstruation is 'the reason' for endometriosis - if this was the case then I'd have it on both sides...wouldn't I? I'd be really interested to hear from anybody who had a similar experience. Endometriosis is a horrible thing to have and affects so many aspects of your life - I do all I can to educate people about it, but I am constantly amazed by how few people have heard of this condition and how ignorant those who have heard of it usually are.
