I am 18 years old and had a laparoscopy in April of this year. Being that the surgery failed to cure my symptoms I was put on Lupron and was told that I probably wouldn't feel much for side effects until the 3rd month. Within the first 2 days of having the shot I was nothing but a pain to be around -I couldn't even stand myself! The hotflashes were terrible, I would wake up in the middle of the night soaking wet from sweating so bad, I felt like my temp. had to be at least 103 degrees. But of course it never was-it was always normal. Now about the time I was supposed to go in for my 3rd shot I mentioned to my family doc that I was having some problems with dizziness and fainting spells. I was puton a holter monitor which showed my heart rate was going over 200 for long periods of time. So of course my mom acting like a mom got on the internet to get some info. on Lupron. Her findings weren't good, my heart problems may be due to the Lupron and I am now on a heart monitor for a month, going through a series of tests and yet my OBGYN wants me to stay on Lupron otherwise my symptoms come back and I'm left with no other choices than go to the pain clinic. I am currently looking for any possible alternatives, but I suggest you all read as many articles about the long term side effects as you can before proceeding with your treatment. Good luck!
