Hi Donna, I hope your surgery went well. I just Had a laparoctomy the end of August. I also had large endometriomas. I had my 1st surgery 2 years age. They found a endometrioma of the right ovary. 1 years later I had my 2nd surgery(laparscopy) they found even larger endometriomas one on the right and one on the left. I was then told it was to bad and I was reschedule for a laparoctomy in August of last year. I was then put on lupron for 6 months. Did not start getting periods until march 2002. In June 2002,right after my period, I woke up in the middle of the night doubled over in pain. Took a trip to the emergency room. The ultrasound showed the endometriomas were back. I had sugery Aug. 27th. The cyst on the left ovary was the size of a large orange, and on the right, the size of an large potato. My doctor found a small portion of the both ovaries with viable tissue left. (I am still trying for another child) He reconstucted both ovaries. I was in surgery for close to 4 hours. He plans to watch me very closely, by doing ultrasound every 3 months and running other test until I get pregnant. If this don't work I will be giving up and opting for a hysterectomy next. I don't know why the endomertiomas come back that aggresively with some people. I started to question my if my doctor was removing them properly. this last surgery I had was with a new doctor. I would advise you to make sure your doctor watches you very closely. Don't let him put you off. Both Doctor's that I have seen have been suprised that my endo has returned so aggresively after such envasive surgeries. I will keep you in my prayers
