I took Ultram for my pain in my neck a long time ago i was in a bus reck and in my neck i had sliped disk. My family Dr said then the pills where non-narcotic when they first came out. Some time in 98'' They did help with the pain also. But then when i tried to get them throught the military because my husband is in the Navy the Dr wouldn't give me them he said they dont carry them anymore throught the military because they where a narcotic and people where getting hooked on them. And this was back in OCT 99-JAN 2000 when the military Dr told me this. So now i'am off them and taking something Diffrent for the pain. Shelly Davis Kim Fortney wrote:Madison, I'm trying Ultram. It's non-narcotic, but still gives me a bit of a head rush. It doesn't completely knock the pain out, but seems to take the edge off and make it manageable. I can think clearly on it, and it doesn't make me tired or nauseous. You might want to give it a try. -- Kim
