Re: anyone been on Depo Provera?

Irene -- I was on this for 5 cycles, 1 shot every 3 months. I thought it was great, but I had not been diagnosed with endo at the time. I had a 2 month old daughter and didn't want a pregnancy. I had no signature weight gain or headaches, and I don't recall having a period on it, but I was breastfeeding when I started and periods had not returned anyway. A year after stopping the shots, I still had no period, and my dr gave me Provera to bring them back. Worked fine. I thought the standard dose was 1 shot every 3 months -- is there a reason why every 2 months? Anyway, I wish you luck, and I'd like to know how it works for the pain. If I'm not pregnant by January, I'd like to try Depo for the endo, as opposed to birth control. -- Kim
