Anon -- I took the Depo shot for 5 cycles, a year and a quarter. I didn't gain a pound. My daughter was about 2 months old when I took my first shot, and I was breast feeding, so that probably helped to keep the weight down. I went from 165 to 119 in 4 months, 2 of them on Depo. Anyway, it wasn't until I stopped breast feeding, after being off the Depo for about 6 months, that I gained 30 pounds. I found that my increased diet for 3 years while pregnant and breast feeding was very difficult to get under control.....Depo was no problem for me, though. Just so you know not everyone experiences weight gain with the shot. -- Kim
