could it be endometriosis

I am 30 yrs. old with 5 kids. I started having problems since before january 2002 with tenderness in my right side near the hip area. In january my periods started to mess up with being late by 2 to 3 weeks. finally they straightened out but are really light and only last 2 days tops. Yesterday i started my period on time but have only been spotting and i was hurting so bad in my right side and lower back that i wasn't able to do anything. I was barely walking! I have had an ultrasound and a cat scan on the abdominol area to rule out cysts, appendicitis, and other abdominal problems. They came back fine according to the family doctor. is it possible to have endometriosis not show up on an ultrasound and cat scan? Should I go see a gynecologist? my back is better today although my side is still pretty sore. But i feel excellent compared to yesterday. Does this sound like something anyone else has gone through. Please help.
