possible endometriosisFrom: Patti (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Sep 2 10:15:29 2002
I really don't know if I should post here or not. I have had 2 children via c-section. My last child is 20 months old. I have had cronic pelvic pain since last child was born. 4 months ago it started to become worse. I went to my gyn who said he didn't think it was cysts, but an infection. I took the antibiotics & 2 weeks later was in unbareable pain which warrented a trip to the ER. After ultra sound cysts were diagnosed. 3 ultra sounds later the cysts are smaller & dr doesn't feel that is what is causing the pain. Spoke with him on Friday & he feels it might be endometriosis. I was given 2 choices laroscopy or lupron. I need to give him my decision tomorrow. I was wondering if it could possibly be scar tissue from the deliveries. I healed poorly from the first which resulted in scar tissue connecting the uterus to the abdominal wall. During delivery of the second the uterus ripped. I was told by the delivering doctor there would be more scar tissue after the second. Could the scar tissue mimic endometriosis? I have also heard some bad things about lupron. Does anyone have a possitive experience from it. Insurance will cover the med w/out laroscopy. However, I am not sure it is the best thing to try lupron w/out confirmed diagnosis from a laroscopy.
