Re: Having surgery on 9/12 for endometrioma and scared it might be something else :(

Hi Donna,

Since you already have a history of endo and an endometrioma in the same place, I would think your chances are pretty high it is another endometrioma. I haven't had an endometrioma in the same spot, but I have had endo grow back in basically the same spot, in the sigmoid colon area.

I know it must be scary, especially since you have had cancer already. It makes even harder when you have to wait for surgery.

I had to wait about a month and a half to have my hyst for fibroids and endo (the endo was found during the hyst, but suspected beforehand.) I ended up in the ER 5 days before because I was bleeding so heavily and it didn't want to stop. It was terrifying and frustrating because I told the docs that my bleeding was getting heavier every month. I just wanted to get the surgery done.

Are you planning on having your ovary removed? If you aren't I strongly recommend that you do-both of them in fact. If you don't your chances are higher the endo will continue.

I wish you the best on your surgery and recovery. :)

Best wishes, D.N.
