But I believe there are extremely valid reasons to take Lupron: 1) If one cannot tolerate surgery for whatever coexisting medical problem 2) fertility reasons 3) holding surgery- a stopgap to postpone surgery. I am not a Lupron basher. HOWEVER, I feel the issues such as short term memory loss even though transient ,are major issues and MUST be emphasized more by the physician as WELL as by the pharmaceutical company. It is a safety issue-can you imagine operating heavy machinery-doing important detailed work while on this drug. I have taken Lupron but have stopped anything dangerous-i.e. driving due to short term memory issues. I expect this to resolve once I'm off it. This is a physiological responsedue to the decreased estrogen.
