my Zoladex (Lupron) experience so far-not as bad as I expectedFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Aug 30 15:36:23 2002
Well to give you a little history, I was diagnosed with endo a little over 2 years ago. I had my right ovary taken out via laparotomy, and 3 months ago I had a lap for a 4cm cyst on my left ovary. My gyn strongly suggested the Zoladex (basically Lupron). I heard so many horror stories about it, I was so scared to try it. I had my 3rd injection last week, and other than the hot flashes and headaches. It has not been that bad at all. I am very health conscience and I eat a very restricted diet (no meat, dairy, refined sugar, wheat or gluten) and work out (aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, ballet, jazz,) everyday. To me, this makes all the difference in how I feel. I have done a lot of research and I am going to try the progesterone cream very soon, because I just prefer not to have any more synthetic crap in my system. I will also talk to my gyn about what we are going to do next-stop the zoladex or go another 3 months. I have stage 3 endo, but I don't have pain-and it is hard to say if the Zoladex or my diet and exercise or a combo of it all has helped me. If you take care of your body and spirit, you can handle it. I have only been on it for 3 months, but that is my experience. Good Luck. Lisa
