Allergic reaction to Lupron - anyone with a similar experience to mine? From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Aug 5 15:02:28 2002
Hi All, I posted on the Women's Forum this morning about my allergic reaction to Lupron, and it was suggested that I check this board for other's experiences with allergic reactions to the drug. I was wondering if anyone has gotten hives as a result of the injection. I received my first injection last Thursday, and within hours was feeling really itchy. I began breaking out in hives Friday night (first at the injection site) and now I am covered in hives. I didn't get to speak to my doctor about this, but the nurse practioner prescribed Zyrtec and Benadryl. I was just wondering if anyone had been through this and would be willing to share their experience with me (even anonymously). I'm really scared because there is no stopping this drug, it's in there!!! I'd like to know what sort of things happened to you, what the doctor did for you, did things get worse, etc.? I'd also like to hear from anyone who may have had a different allergic reaction to Lupron? What sort of things happened to you, what was done, were you left with anything permanent, etc.? I have to say that even if I hadn't gotten hives, I would still not be a fan of Lupron. I have been having headaches and really nauseous since the injection. I feel awful on this drug.
