Continuous BCP/Endo - Weird Weight Gain

From: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)

I have been on continuous BCP since March 2000. It has almost totally relieved all of my symptoms. However, I just switched doctors and the new one recommends having a period every three months, which is fine (although I'm dreading that first one!). I have noticed that in the last few months, I am bloated all of the time - I'm on WeightWatchers faithfully but can't seem to drop any weight and in fact, have picked up about 3 pounds! I'm not overweight - I weigh 135 and am 5'4". But, even water pills don't seem to get rid of the bloat. I mentioned this to the new doctor with other symptoms (fatigue, sweating, etc.) and she tested my thyroid which came back normal. I'm just trying to figure out of the bloating and weight gain are caused by the continuous BCP? Will they go away if I have a period? Do I need to make an appt. with my regular doctor? Help! Opinions please!
