Re: How long for recovery from lap and multiple cyst removal?

LS,

I would recommend that you eat as lightly as possible for the next few weeks as you continue your recovery from your lap. I had to learn this the hard way after my first surgery in 1997. As long as I ate very, very lightly for about 3 or 4 weeks I didn't have to deal with the nausea.

While laparoscopy is an outpatient procedure and is considered to be least invasive your body doesn't understand that. All it knows is that it's been traumatized. It can take up to 4 months to get rid of the post-op pain b/c of all the work done inside to remove all endo found.

As for your bowels you might want to ask your dr if it's ok to try and use a stool softener to see if that helps relieve the pressure. I know that after each of my laps it was even harder to go and have a BM for a few days but then after that I was careful.

I hope that this is of some help to you and feel free to e-mail me privately any time if you have any questions or just want to talk.
