Renee, The hormone used in the HRT study was a synthetic progestin, and yes, they seem to be the reason for the heart problems from what I've read. Real progesterone, on the other hand, prevents vascular spasms and helps protect against heart trouble. Also, many women have had varying degrees of success using the progesterone for hair thinning. I think it is certainly worth a try. BJ
