Re: How many of you use progesterone cream for your Endo?

Medroxyprogesterone was the drug used in the HRT trials. I believe, but am not sure, that is equivalent to Provera.

As for the other, here is a quote from an FDA site (and one of the postings I made on the subject):

"These products are "new drugs" because there is no evidence that they are generally recognized as safe and effective for their intended uses [Section201 (p) of the Act]. Therefore, they may not be legally marketed in this country without approved New Drug Applications [section 505(a) of the Act]. The drugs are also misbranded because their labeling fails to bear adequate directions for the conditions for which they are offered [Section 502(ij( 1) of the Act]. The labeling is false and misleading as it suggests that the products are safe and effective for their intended uses when, in fact, this has not been established [Section 502(a) of the Act]."

Also see the following: it has all the backup. (Btw, Prometrium and Progesterone creme are 2 different things).

I don't remember where I read that -- I think I read it in articles discussing the latest high-profile HRT trial which was recently stopped due to negative effects of progesterone. I may have also read something to that effect on one of the websites which was discussing pros and cons of progesterone -- sorry, I really don't remember. It doesn't surprise me though that we wouldn't find such remarks on a "pro"-progesterone site. As for whether these hormonal creams are good or bad for us, I don't know, thats what I'm trying to figure out. I feel that, for me, herbs/food/etc. can act like drugs in the body (at least that is my personal experience), so I tend to be apprehensive re trying things. BUT if someone knows what can help with this side of head hair thinning/back crown, please let me know -- I'll try it:-).
