hi, sarah,

i was on short term disability for the month of april with endo pain and a lap at the end of the month.

i took FMLA protection for my job and, then, i have short term disability insurance which covered 60% of my wages for the time i was gone (minus a one week holding time). i received the FMLA as well as the short term disability forms from HR. my dr completed them, i turned them back into HR, and received my check about a week later.

currently, i am on intermittant FMLA leave as i have reduced my work schedule to 24 hrs/week. this leave protects my job so that i can return to fulltime. however, i am not receiving any disability benefits at this time as one has to be completely absent from work to qualify under my insurance. again, my dr just needed to complete a form i received from HR.

let me know if you have any questions about this process.

it has completely preserved my sanity and helped me to concentrate on healing!

good luck; take good, good care of yourself, emily
