Re: I NEED HELP WITH MY ENDO PAIN!!!! PLEASEFrom: lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jul 16 16:21:06 2002
Caroline, I agree with Deanna and Mindy when they suggested that surgery might be your best option if your pain is horribly severe. I just feel that Lupron is probably a bad option for you at your age - your body is not meant to be in menopause now, and when you go off the drug you will just go back to where you at at now. Just fyi, I posted this above in response to another message, but I have summarized the herbal / dietary treatments I have been using (with the advice of an herbalist, and after doing a lot of my own research.) They have really helped for me, and hell, even if you are skeptical, I thinks its worth a try. I recommend you do some of your own research, as well. Good luck, feel better. I take Chaste tree berry (vitex agnus castus), a herb that balances your hormones. Its especially helped with my sex pain (gone for months, now) and my period. I also take evening primrose oil (an essential fatty acid supplement), which interferes with the production of inflammatory prostaglandins released during menstruation, which lessen menstrual cramps and inflammation associated with our condition. Dong quai is a chinese herb that has anti-spasmodic and hormone regulatory properties. Helps with the endo I believe is residing in my bowel at present. All of this stuff should be available at your local health food store, or if not, online. Herbal teas like dandelion root are diaretics that can help with some of the bloating / pressure I know that I get, and reducing caffeine, meat/milk and other foods with synthetic hormones couldn't hurt either. I've also heard, and believe, that eating the kind of diet associated with preventing cancer (dark greens, few animal products, low in saturated fat and transfatty acids) is very good, since one of the purposes behind it is to alkalize your blood stream to prevent psycho-cell division and behavior common to both cancer and endo.
