The procedure you're referring to where the uterosacral ligaments are cut is probably similar LUNA. According to many recent research, LUNA does not work.

I also read that if your uterus is retroverted, it can cause it to tip back even further (because it loses the supporting ligament) and potentially (but not always) cause pain with intercourse, but I do not think the issue has been researched too well.
