Re: I have IC, Crohns and possibly Endo

Carrie, I don't know whether or not I have IC -- gyn thinks I do, urologist doesn't think so. Anyway, I do suffer very frequent urination but do not have pain upon urinating nor do I have pain with a full bladder (in fact, I doubt I ever have a "full" bladder because I'm not able to hold my urine that long). Yes, I have endo -- have had surgery with the experts but still have pain in spots/areas -- the experts excised the "visible" endo and "foreign" tissue but I still have pain in areas not excised and yet the experts didn't see anything else or they would have excised it! So I really think this stuff can be deep and microscopic -- its as if I have the seeding inside which flares, and yet the experts can only see "endo" when the "seeding" has flared/been inflamed for a prolonged period of time in which case it presents itself visually as endo tissue. Does that make sense lol? Kind of like having a pimple under the skin which is not yet visible but later becomes so. Re the Crohns, that is interesting because I have areas in my abdomen which would flare when the rest of my endo pain flared (always in the same spots) and yet the experts didn't see anything on the intestines/abdominal area. I haven't heard of other women with endo complaining of crohns, but that doesn't mean that there aren't more of you out there. Re the IC, that is pretty common with endo. I think all of these conditions are somehow related in that they are inflammatory conditions -- our inflammatory gene is defective according to some of the latest research. Anyway, I still get flares, but nothing compared to before my surgeries, and *getting off of the bc pill has actually helped a lot -- since ceasing the bc pill, my stabbing endo pains don't occur nearly as often. I think my surgery days are over!!! The pain I get now is a piece of cake. Of course, now that I said that, I've probably jinxed myself, watch me wake up in a world of pain in the near future. I'll keep my fingers crossed. **Something that really helps is staying away from caffeine, dairy, citric acid, citrus fruits, phytoestrogens, chocolate, etc. -- this should help both the endo and the IC.

How long have you had Crohns? Was it the first of your ailments? Then the endo? Then the IC? What is your treatment for Crohns?
